Racing Alignment: Camber

When racing, your vehicle will go through a numerous amount of alignment changes. Your static alignment will not be the same as it is the moment you start driving after getting the alignment at a shop. The dynamic alignment is constantly changing with every and any abnormalities in the road. When it comes to camber, most drivers will seek out a greater negative setting. Having a greater negative static camber will result in a more positive dynamic camber in turns resulting in more grip.

Often depending on the vehicle, the camber adjustment can only go so far positive or negative. This is where Whiteline bushings come into play. We offer on multiple vehicle offset bushings for most upper or lower control arms. Having the offset bushing gets you in most cases 0.5-1.0 degrees of additional positive or negative camber.
An example below is for the popular Nissan models from the 80's and 90's decades like the R32 and R33 Skylines plus the Silvia 's or S13/ S14 of that era.

Along with bushings, another great way to get some added camber if offset bushings aren’t available for your specific vehicle is camber bolts. Your car most likely came with them from the factory, but the profile on the lobe is either not as aggressive or has no lobe at all. These are installed in the upper or lower strut clevis hole and provide up to 1.5 total degrees of positive or negative camber.
